March Flip Side Party
The read aloud story was Is That All? (coming in June 2013.) That's why there are feather masks in the picture. Only 2 girls wanted to color the dragon with the masked princess and her knight in shining armor (which he never takes off.) It made things easy for the judges of that coloring contest.
Many girls preferred to color the cover of Saved. Awesome work. Plus, these are really wonderful people.
Both of the coloring contest winners will be getting their prizes this week. Congratulations!
January Art Contest Winner
What an awesome mermaid!
This artist is an adult. Victoria Williams likes to spend time on artwork every Thursday. She entered two mermaid pictures in the contest, and both were wonderful. The judges chose this one because of the sinuous lines and the awesome colors.
Thanks to anyone who entered this contest. Next big contest deadline is May 31. Click here for rules.

For anyone who has read the stories Saved, and Smell of Victory, you may have put together that only swamp ogres have greenish skin. The mountain ogres were more brown or grey in color so they can blend with rocks. The ogre who gave Cinderella and Edward got a ride through the forest was a mountain ogre with brownish hands. In the story, Cinderella wore a green dress, but maybe the text should change. What do you think? One more big question: why do so many people think Cinderella had blond hair?
The people who made comments on the pictures said they liked how #2 made fun additions like flowers, clouds and sun. The outlining was also a big hit. Congratulations, Sophie!

March's FREE Story
A girl with three horrible traits can live happily ever
after. Three, yes. Not four, though. First, Imogene has the most famous parents in the
world: Cinderella and Prince
Edward. Second, she has obnoxious brothers. Third, she plays bassoon. Fourth, her nickname is “Icky.” The first three things can’t change. So she comes up with a plan to change her
name and change her fate. Even though it's against the rules, she's going to make a wish. Living in a
family where wishes come true in unpredictable ways, Imogene knows she must phrase it carefully.
Will she make a success out of a coronation day that suddenly runs out of control
with too many animals, a silent king, and incensed brothers?
